TELL THEM THE TRUTH .......

Am on my way…..but you haven’t had your bath.
Am in Lagos right now……but you are in Abuja.
I don’t have a boyfriend……but you are engaged.
I need a serious girlfriend……but you are married.
I went to Dubai last week……but you've never boarded a flight.
We only eat rice in my house……but you barely feed trice a day.
My son schooled  in Harvard……but you know its not true.

All these and more are the common lies both young and old tell their friends, family and well wishers every now and then. Sure, honesty is very expensive and you don’t expect it from cheap people.
Lying means deceit, falsehood, voluntary error or a deliberate untruth. People tell all sorts of lies daily and defend them and here are the few reasons why people lie. People lie in defense, to protect other lies, to manipulate other people, to win a prize or title, for power, to cheat or for self gratification.
Honesty is the best policy as Lying has a lot of physical, mental and spiritual adverse effects. It puts anyone into psychological instability, spiritual deformation and can be a mental hazard to the general well being which could lead to minor health issues like headache, sore throat, mood swing, depression and of course, increases the level of the dreaded stress or fatigue.
An average human lies at least eleven times in seven days and with the fact that a lie gives branches to other lies, it hereby increases the heart rate, tension and blood pressure rapidly. For instance, you planned telling your boss a lie this morning, and you walk into his office, told him the false outcome of that meeting and then he throws you a question. Instead of giving him an answer, your pulse increases, you are tensed up already, you can hear your heart beat and you feel so uneasy. Your sweat glands become hyper reactive and at sometime it feels like you are going to faint……..
wawoooh!!!! you need to STOP LYING…..
The very first step to reducing your lying skills is to first make up your mind on a personal ground that you have decided to be honest, to anyone no matter how sad thing turn out to be, hereby by cutting down your lying skills drastically yet gradually. This is a decision you alone can make for yourself; you and no one else. Then you must try as much as possible to mingle only with people who encourage you to tell the truth at all times.  With the wrong company and associates you can only get worse and you must believe me that lying robs you of your inner peace of mind.
Live a positive life, stand for what is right and don’t let the world stop you. Believe it or not, you can be honest, you can be faithful, you can be joyful, peaceful and of course you can make a difference.
Anything is possible if you remove the ‘T’ and say I CAN, so when next you want to speak to anyone, be it your spouse, family, friend ,colleague or just anyone, just multiply the ‘T’ by four and TELL THEM THE TRUTH………..

Impressive! A lovely piece my dear. But it's not easy to follow oooo! Some times people tell lies to cover up the hurtful truth, don't know if it's okay. When you love someone you make some sacrifice though they may not be correct. It takes the grace of God to see us through.

Honestly is ALWAYS the best policy. Easily pracised in an 'ideal' world, but very ardious to ALWAYS uphold in the 'real' world. Still a great and thoughtful write-up. Nice one.

Hi Okwudili,
thank you for dropping by today and i celebrate you.
I don't treat people differently but with honesty and respect too. i believe everybody we meet in life deserves the truth from us as a way of keeping our integrity sound and earning trust not just buying it. thank you and stay truthful.
